OUR GOALS ARE TO SHARE THE JOY COFFEE BRINGS TO INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITIES THROUGH RICH AND ROBUST COFFEE, CONTINUOUSLY LEARN ABOUT COFFEE ROASTING AND BREWING, AND TEACH OTHERS ABOUT COFFEE ORIGINS AND BASIC BREWING TECHNIQUES.

Our story

Little Oso Coffee Roasters officially started in July 2023. We’ve undergone a few name changes after discovering “Little Bear” is quite popular. We have been roasting and learning about coffee since 2017. It started off when my wife’s Uncle Bob gifted us a very basic, small electric roaster after supporting our country’s efforts through 12 years of active duty service in the US Air Force. During our first roast, we scorched the beans and caught the machine on fire. We’ve since upgraded to a slightly bigger, more advanced roasting machine and have learned how to constantly try to perfect a coffee roast to each specific bean origin.

We have a philosophy of living our lives filled with truth, goodness, and beauty focused on our faith and family. One of the ways we bring goodness and beauty into our lives is through coffee, which fills our home with incredible aromas each morning allowing us to build a community within our home through coffee.

And, we love the mountains. So you’ll see the theme across much of what we do.

Our coffee

We work with vendors who proudly exercise fair trade in our attempt to ensure everyone benefits from coffee all the way to the farmer who hand picks each coffee bean from the tree. When I travel to other countries, I seek to visit coffee farms and establish relationships.

Little Bear

We chose the name after our Great Pyrenees named Little Bear. This dog makes us laugh often. We named him Little Bear because to us he is a small for a bear, but big for a dog. Oso is bear in Spanish. And since Little Bear is commonly used for business names, we went with Little Oso for our microroastery!
