Bear-ly Keeping Up #3

Bear-ly Keeping Up

Greetings from your LoCo Roaster! It has been a long time since I’ve updated our friends. Summer has been busy. Here’s our latest Bear-ly Keeping Up update.

What we’re working on: COFFEE!, homeschooling, piano, Pokémon, dance, Pom, Brazilian jiu jitsu (Ari and me), theater, parenting/patience, college visits, and traveling! It has been a busy summer and start to the new school year as you can tell from our happenings.

We are still offering some of my favorite coffees and am always on the lookout for new ones. Currently, I am exploring a few anaerobic fermentation Colombian coffees. Stay tuned for those. Huatusco Veracruz remains one of my all time favs and we have a large batch inbound.

What we’re watching: Since the Olympics have ended, our TV time has essentially disappeared. When we do watch TV, we’re usually watching some sort of Pokémon show or jiu jitsu competitions.

What we’re reading: Brit is listening to two audio books (The Frozen River and Okay For Now) and actually reading I Must Betray You. One is a murder mystery, another is a children’s novel, and the book is a historical fiction. At this rate, she might finish reading our entire public library’s inventory before I finish my 4th book this year, which I’ve yet to start.

Where we’re going/where we’ve been: I have successfully avoided leaving the country for work except yesterday when I went to Toronto, which had a surprisingly high number of coffee roasters! Marathon prep has kept me going to running-friendly cities in the US with nicer weather than Texas. Other than that, we’ve visited family in Illinois and Colorado and stayed in Waco for a few days for a piano competition (yes, those are a thing). Hoping to start visiting Central America again once my marathon is done in November.

That’s it for now! Just wanted to let ya’ll know our little biz is still kicking. I love roasting coffee for so many reasons. It forces me to stop for a moment from our super busy life and focus on just coffee. And, ultimately, I love waking up and starting my day with one of our craft coffees and knowing we get to share that experience with others. Thanks for reading, if you made it this far! Cheers to great coffee!
